Joining the Aliexpress affiliate program is a cool way to make money online in Nigeria and it's one way I use because they do have a wide variety of stuff that Nigerians are already buying.

Aliexpress is an online shopping platform that is based in Hong Kong, China and they deliver items to buyers in Africa including Nigeria. It's a great place to buy things from China and they come at good prices too with lower shipping costs than what you'd get at some European or American shopping websites.

Apart from being an online shopping website, it's also a place where people can make money by simply promoting their products on their online platform such as a blog, forum, social media page or video sharing website. All you need to make money on Aliexpress is to join their program and drive traffic to them from your publishing platform.

I've generated some affiliate codes and banners from Aliexpress which I use to promote sales to them and one of the things I wanted to find out before encouraging other people to use them is if they really pay Nigerians and how they do it.

Lately, I've received my affiliate payment from Aliexpress and they pay by means of Bank Wire transfers to your bank account. So, you can also receive payments from them if you have a domiciliary or ordinary savings account but it all comes at a cost of $15 which means you need to earn at least $16 to be paid $1 by a Wire transfer.

Aliexpress affiliate program is not a fraudulent one and initially, I guess they used to run their program on CJ but now they do have an in-house affiliate program that lets you make money even in Nigeria.

There are many links and banners you can generate from your Aliexpress affiliate account and the more traffic you send to them, the more money you are likely to make. One tip is to send the kind of traffic that is more likely to get genuine buyers to them and you are more likely going to make money from them.

Considering the payment fee when using wire transfer payments, I think it's better for an affiliate to accumulate his earnings to about $100 or even $1000 before even trying to make a withdrawal so as to minimize his costs. There are no additional fees you'd pay at the bank once the money gets it but if you are using a Naira savings account, you may receive a Naira equivalent of the payment which may be lower that the exchange rate you'd get if you have received it in a domiciliary account and changed it at the black market.

Since, I've confirmed that Aliexpress now pays Nigerian affiliates since I myself have been paid, I may very well wait till my earnings accumulate to $1000 or more before making a withdrawal request. It has also inspired me to do more to promote them on my website.

How long did it take for me to get paid? Well, it took about a month after I made the withdrawal request from my account. Initially, the payment request status was just showing Auditing for a while and after that it showed "Successful". I was able to confirm it by using the mobile banking app from my phone and checked my bank transactions to see a deposit from Alipay Singapore.

Lots of Nigerians definitely want to buy things from Aliexpress or from China but not all of them really know how to do it or what it involves. Creating something like a tutorial blog or video channel may actually be more helpful to them and in this way earn a publisher and affiliate more money.

To register as an Aliexpress affiliate, all one needs to do is go to the home page and look for a link that says Affiliate Program at the bottom and then click it.
