Since it happened that DSTV or rather Multichoice in Nigeria was not really doing any Christmas promos nor were they even offering a discount to customers who renewed their subscription, I've been looking for a way to make the payment and get some benefit for doing it in advance. I didn't want to start paying for bills by January the following year when I can just do it in December and get a discount on it.

Well, I happened to run into an offer by Konga on their website and noticed that they were also offering a 5% to buyers who pay for it with Konga Pay and so I purchased it and paid just 95% of the actual fee I'm used to paying for a DSTV subscription. After the successful payment, I checked my DSTV account status on their Eazy platform and noticed the the full amount has been credited to my account even though I jsut paid 95% of the actual cost.

When making payments on Konga using Konga Pay for the first time, one has to simply get registered first by adding his bank details and setting up a PIN after which you will be able to make and confirm payments using a One Time Password that is normally sent to the phone number your registered with your bank.

This is the first time I'm seeing Konga actually selling DSTV subscriptions at a discount as long as a buyer pays using Konga Pay. If you've not yet signed up fpr Konga Pay, you should do so today.

With the way Konga Pay works, it appears that it's actually my bank that is sending me their OTP at the request of Konga and yet I keep wondering why it costs more to pay for bills using my banks mobile and internet banking channels unlike the case with Konga Pay. Is the discount being offered by Konga going to last for a long time or forever? Well, I think that for now it's a marketing strategy to bring more people to start using Konga Pay.

I love the way Konga Pay works as there are no need to start entering your card details or any other personal information other than your bank account and BVN for first time users. For subsequent users, all you need to do is confirm the OTP sent to your phone and the transaction will be approved while your bank account gets debited.

The bottom line is that you can now Pay for your DSTV and GOTV subscription on Konga and get a 5% discount while doing so if you pay with Konga Pay. It works but I can't guarantee that the discount will be forever.

With KongaPay, you would be paying in advance before the item is deliverd. It's an online process that would require you to just enter the code sent to your phone when checking out on Konga. Entering the code and submitting the order approves the payment immediately.
