Spam Report: Paypal withdrawal Kenya

For those who don't already know, Multidox is selling a report on How to withdraw paypal funds in Kenya. It is a helpful resource as it provides options for Paypal users in Kenya who use Paypal but find it hard to make withdrawals without a US based address. You can find more about the ebook here.

I actually received a spam mail from a personal email address and it was titled "Item #paypalwithdrawalkenya.pdf - Notification of Payment Received from"

Here is the body of the email I received:

You received a payment of $5.00 USD from ******
Thanks for using PayPal. You can now ship any items. To see all the transaction details, log in to your PayPal account.

Important note: Buyer has provided an unconfirmed address. Please check the Transaction Details page for this payment to find out whether you will be covered by PayPal Seller Protection.

It may take a few moments for this transaction to appear in your account.

Seller Protection - Partially Eligible (Item Not Received Only)

I had read about these types of Paypal scams in Africa and I am actually aware that this was a clear case of spamming but I just wanted to report this type of email for people who sell with Paypal and don't want to lose their money to online fraud emails such as this one.

I actually didn't want to go the the extra length of posting a report on emails such as these but due to the fact that it has taken my time, I might as well use it to add value to this blog by posting a report about it.

Points to note when selling with Paypal
- Paypal sends the notification email and not the supposed buyer
- You can use IPN to record valid payments on your website
- You may also login to Paypal to confirm payments before shipping your product

Spammers like this one should not waste their time in trying to spam this site for a $5 ebook when you can actually buy it using the proper means here

I guess this person wanted me to ship the ebook just because of an email from him - he could have done better. Ebooks sold on Multidox are mostly instant download items and you get access to it immediately you make the online Payment and not by sending an email or spam email supposedly from Paypal.
