Having a Paypal account now is in vogue for people who do online business in Kenya. Freelancers, bloggers and other small online businesses are taking advantage of Paypal's presence to move their market to the large audience. Paypal is one of the most popular means of online payment and it is highly trusted by users such that it makes it an easier and reliable means of transferring money on the internet within minutes.
Paypal is expanding its borders in Africa and is already in most countries here including Kenya. The only drag for users in Kenya is that they may only withdraw from their Paypal accounts using a US bank account or credit card and then withdraw from the ATM or do a bank wire.

How do you open a Paypal account in Kenya?
Well, you need to do the following:
- Go oto paypal.com/ke and sign up as a new user
- Include your original personal details and address
- Within a few minutes, you account will be open

How to verify your Paypal account in Kenya
Paypal normally does account verification for its members so as to really know if details they provided are genuine. Verification is not compulsory if you have not reached a limit but it will ultimately become compulsory at one pt.

Verification will help remove some limits to your account and here is how you can verify your Paypal account:
- You click on Get verified and it takes you to another page
- Confirm your personal details
- Enter your credit card details. You can get a card from KCB to use to verify Paypal
- Click on Continue and Paypal will charge this card about $1.95 USD or equivalent to make sure it's yours. They'll refund the money into your PayPal account within 24 hours after you confirm your the transaction

- It removed the $500 sending limit in your account
- You are allowed to make monthly withdrawala
- It helps improve security for all users concerned

I guess the one called prepaid card account with KCB. It is not exactly a savings or normal account but a debit card account that can be linked to your Paypal account. You will need a form of identification to get one. A copy of your ID and a passport photo would do.
