Users of GSM phone have a way of restricting calls on their sim card and this function is referred to as call barring. GSM Networks in Nigeria like MTN, Glo, Etisalat and Airtel all allow call barring and it is mostly a free service for your network. You can decide to restrict calls coming in or going out(out going calls) on your sim card just by dialing the call barring code and the default code is consists of 4 zero digits which is "0000".

If for instance, you want to bar incoming calls, this will make that sim card not be able to receive calls from another caller. It would still be able to call other phones but not able to receive calls. If however you activate call barring for outgoing calls, this will prevent the sim from making outgoing calls but still be able to receive incoming calls. You may also decide to place call barring for all calls which includes voice, video and probably sms. This will make your sim unable to make or receive voice calls, video calls and text messages.

How do you activate Call barring?
You can do this by simply dialing *33*0000#
You may also go to your phone menu for call barring options and activate it by entering the code which is 0000

How to deactivate call barring
You can do this by simply dialling #33*0000#
You may also go to your phone menu for call barring de-activation options and de-activate it by entering the code which is 0000

If your network uses a different code, just use it in place of 0000.

If you are still having problems with your call barring function, then just contact your customer service

Perhaps your call barring code has been changed. Try call Glo customer care to confirm if 0000 is the default code and how to reset your code.
