How to open a Paypal account in Nigeria

Paypal is huge when it comes to sending and receiving money online in over 190 countries of the world out of the over 200 countries. Paypal has been operating in most countries for long. Another network that is like Paypal and has a lot of users in Alertpay and this is directly open to Nigerian residents

Funny enough, Nigeria which is among the top 3 economic powers in Nigeria is not yet on the Paypal network. This does not however mean that Nigerians are excluded from applying for a Paypal account. Those excluded are those who only have Nigerian resident addresses. This simple means that as a Nigerian, you can apply for a Paypal account if you have residence or can prove residence in another country where Paypal works. Now, there are several countries in Africa from where you can open a Paypal account easily from such as Kenya, South Africa and others. You may also open an account in the US or UK if you have residence there. It is also funny that Paypal operates in a neighbouring country Niger but not in Nigeria. The language in Niger is French and it is close to Nigeria.

If you are currently in Nigeria and looking for an easy way to open your own Paypal account, here are tips that can help you to do just that.

- Decide on the country you want to register with. Most people now use UAE or Asian countries but you may still use UK if you have friends or families there in case of necessity. You can also open one with a address in Niger as it is so close to Nigeria and you can easily get there if any problem arises. Forget USA addresses if you cannot verify it when the need arises.
- You may decide to get an ip annonymizer but it really doesn't matter to Paypal as long as you can verify later on. Just use a normal ip address for your internet
- Go to paypal and sign up for an account
- Use your original details and store your registration details in your email draft or folders
- Get a virtual credit card for Paypal verification. You can get one at http://prepaid-visa.info/paypal and remember to use the same address you used in opening the paypal account
- Login to your paypal account to verify it by clicking on unverified
- After confirming the verification with the code or balance paypal sends, your account will be verified.

apparently u ddnt check this out. its quite impossible to get a virtual credit card.. all applicants must live in the US so it says.

Yes if you are applying for a USA based paypal account, you need to have social security and residence in the US but for those in Nigeria, you may use other countries where you have residence to easily register. Countries like SA, Kenya, Niger are relatively easy to register with. USA paypal addresses nowadays are risky if you are not living in the US
