Nigeria is home to most of the top telecom networks and ISPs in Africa and this list includes MTN, Airtel, Glo, Etisalat and others. Apart from the voice and sms services they provide to millions of Nigerians, they also offer internet services plans for desktop and mobile. The mobile internet service is what really helps a lot of people to get connected to the web and contributes to Nigeria's current leading status in internet usage in Africa.

Now, how does a person get connected to the mobile internet?

Well you would first of all need the following things:
- GPRS/WAP capable phone
- Mobile internet settings
- Sim registration
- Subscription to a data plan

Mobile internet plans by networks in Nigeria
There are numerous plans for mobile browsing that are being offered by these telecom companies in Nigeria but I'm just going to list a few of them here

MTN
web address: http://www.mtnonline.com/products-services/internet-services/mtn-mobile-internet
helpline: 131

Airtel
web address: http://www.ng.airtel.com/Extras/AirtelMobileInternet.aspx
helpline: 141

Glo
web address: http://www.gloworld.com/handsetsntablets.asp
helpline: 127

Etisalat
web address: Easynet - http://www.etisalat.com.ng/easynet.php
helpline: 229

To get more details on how to subscribe to their service, just send an sms to any of their help lines or call customer care

How much does mobile internet cost in Nigeria?
Something from 1 to 5k per KB depending on the network and plan that you are currently subscribed to but prepaid plans are much cheaper than pay as you go for most services. The cheapest prepaid plans are the ones that are on 24 hrs service so it really depends on how you normally browse with your phone. If you only check your email once a day, pay as you go is better but if you browse on your phone for as long as say 6 hrs in a day, then the 24 hr service should be preferred.

How does one subscribe to a plan?
It can be done using USSD or sms by dialing the subscription code related to that plan. You can also use your sim services to check for data plans available by your provider.

i'm a heavy internet user and find the 3 gig
data cap too limiting.
do you know any provider that can offer more gigs at the best price?
i'm presently using mtn
nightplan thats the best price/data ratio.
would like say 10 - 30 gig on a good plan.
give price information
if you know any.

I don't know why please bail me out of this problem It's too much for me thanks

All your mobile internet plans are very vague. How many people do you think will understand those grammar you wrote on your 127. Why don't state clearly like other providers. Like etisalat: mobile internet~#100 =24hours=*229*3*1#. Check balance; *228#. Who would not understand this. We can not understand anything about your own. We do not know why you are behaving like this. May be you are telling us to go away from you.
