If you are interested in having your own blog setup but you don't really know how to or you need tips on doing so, maybe you should take a bit of your time to read this.
Setting up a blog in Nigeria is relatively easy as I feel the main work is not really in setting it up or installing it but rather in blogging itself.
If you want to have your own blog setup within a few days, here is what you need to do.

Steps to setting up your blog in Nigeria:
- Decide on your niche and choose a domain name related to that niche
- Get a domain name for around N1500 a year. You can pay with bank deposit
- Pay for web hosting service for a year (Costs around N3000/year at some Nigerian web hosts)
- Set up a blogging software like Wordpress or other software on your host
- Focus on a theme and start writing and publishing with your blog

It may take anything from 24 to 72 hrs before your blog is live and you can start using it.

There are lot of blogging platforms that can be used for blog installation and they include:
- Bloggger
- Wordpress
- Moveable type
- Typepad
- Others

Some web hosting services come with pre-installed platforms and all it needs is for your to follow easy steps to set it up else you can download the blogging platform first and follow the installation guides to set it up on your host. You can decide to set up the blog on a folder if you don't want it installed on your main page else if your site is primarily a blog, you should just install it on the main folder as it will help bring you more traffic.

You may visit other blogs in your niche and then get an idea of what topics to write about. Even watching tv of studying real life issues can be a source of inspiration
