It seems most young busy people in Nigeria now prefer carrying the iPad rather than their laptops. Earlier when the techie craze began, it was all about laptops from toshiba to hp and dell, now everyone seems to or wants to go with Apple.

What is is that makes Apple product so marketable, even in Nigeria?
I guess it's the sort of unrivaled technology behind it and its aesthetic design that adds a fashion statement to the user. Once you carry an iPad 2 with you at the office, home or school nowadays, it sorts of add prestige to your public profile. When it also comes to browsing the web and the more popular sites, you would see that using your iPad on sites like facebook and Youtube makes it really exciting.

The Apple iPad has come to stay and we now even have a better version - The Apple iPad 2.

What really is an iPad?
Is it a laptop? A phone? A notebook? Well it is a kind of tablet computer designed by Apple inc. So what is a tablet? A tablet or more rightly tablet pc is sort of a mobile computer that is mobile and can be used by means of touchscreen or pen.

So you see, an iPad being a tablet pc is sort of mobile laptop or notebook that doesn't really come with a keyboard. You make use of touch technology to access the buttons. Now, isn't that something?

An ipad is not a phone so it's basically a computer but not a laptop or notebook or desktop. It's simply special.

Do I need the iPad 2?
Well unless you don't want to have the best tablet pc in the market today. The iPad is much lighter and portable than your average laptop. It is much faster and has a lot of features which your computer would not offer you. The technology behind the iPad 2 is overwhelming.

Can I make phone calls with the Apple iPad 2?
It is not a phone but you can make calls using your internet service connected to it such as skype or other third party application. So, in essence, you can't make phone calls with it as you would do with a normal phone but you can make internet phone calls with it using something like Skype.

What can the Apple iPad do?
- Surf the web, check email, watch movies, play games, and more
- Allows multi touch. You can move apps and buttons with your fingers. No physical buttons really.
- Allows you to broadcast videos, pictures, youtube videos and other multimedia to your hdtv and speakers via a wifi
- Air print. Allows you to send files to your printer for printing wirelessly over the wifi
- Allows facetime - face to face conversation with another person using the ipad on a wifi network

How much does the Apple iPad 2 Cost?
Opened at around $499 and to think that a device like this has all the things
we've been looking for and much more in a tablet. Perhaps it would have been
sold for much more. It not only has advanced features for a 21st century
device, it also has some aethetic value. It's got style and can pass for a
piece of art.
The pc is already being sold in select stores across Nigeria, mainly Lagos and Abuja and the minimum price(for 16GB) seems to be from N70,000 and above. Other higher packages of the iPad 2 may cost much higher as they come with more memory(32GB and 64GB) and 3g services. So a price range from as low as N65,000 to about N160,000 would be appropriate.

Best colours?
Which colour of the ipad 2 would you prefer? I've seen the ones that come in black and white and I think I would prefer the black one. How about you?
