Are you in Nigeria and tired of trying to shop on many online US stores but have a problem with ordering or shipping? Well, a large site like Amazon.com probably has something to offer to people in Nigeria who want to shop online from their homes and get it shipped to their country.

Things you need
In order to be able to shop on Amazon.com from Nigeria, there are certain things you will need:
- An internet connection
- A credit/Debit card like Visa or Mastercard
- A shipping address
- An Amazon shopping account

But does Amazon really ship to Nigeria?
Well, yes they do but not for most items. The truth is that Amazon ships mostly to US addresses and hardly does international shipping which varies from country to country. If you are in Nigeria and want to get items shipped to you from Amazon USA, then you can simply buy those things that Amazon will ship directly to you to Nigeria.

Things that Amazon ships to Nigeria
You can checkout their shipping restrictions to get an up to date report on this. For now, they do ship original dvds, certain T shirts, books, VHS and similar items. They don't ship items like laptops, computers, tables or mobile phones.

How do I get other items from Amazon.com to Nigeria?
You can simply do this by getting a US shipping address with an agent or friend that can help you do the final shipping. How this works is that you indicate your shipping address as the shipping address of you US contact but your billing address would be where your Visa/Mastercard is registered with which is mostly Nigeria unless you are using a US credit card.
Items you then buy from the Amazon store will be shipped to your US address and then be reshipped by your contact to your Nigerian address using a courier service like DHL or USPS.

Reliable internet connection
When shopping online from Nigeria, one of the things you would need is an internet connection that is reliable. Don't use one that doesn't work for you or slow down your business. There are a growing number of reliable and fast internet services in Nigeria and you should try making use of a private one rather than using a public service where your security can be compromised.

What kind of credit/debit card can I use to shop on Amazon?
You can use a Visa or Mastercard issued by any Nigerian bank. If you intend having a long term shopping relationship with Amazon, It would be better if you just convert the funds from your credit card into your Amazon account by buying a gift card which ranges between $25 to $2000. With a gift card, you can shop on Amazon easily and avoid paying additional transaction fees on your credit card. It is also smarter to use a US dollar denominated prepaid card rather than using one denominated in naira since you are shopping at a US store.
