When shopping online with your credit or debit card, there are a lot of costs your would incur and were not just talking about the cost of the item itself. Costs associated with shopping online includes like item cost, transaction cost, shipping cost and even sales tax.
Imagine if you wanted to buy something like a mobile phone costing $80 and end up paying about $100 for the total. Not many people would like that but it seems not everyone is quite aware of the hidden costs associated with shopping online. Some of these costs could be avoided if you plan on how to avoid them in advance.
Things you can do to reduce your online shopping costs:

- Get a gift card at that online store. It reduces transaction cost and a good example is the Amazon gift card.
- Buy and ship from a single seller. It reduces shipping costs
- Buy in bulk to get discounts. Reduces product cost.
- Shop from few stores rather than many
- Buy from online stores closely located to you to reduce shipping costs.
