What is internet sharing? It refers to the ability to share an internet service. In this case, two or more computers are able to use a single internet service.

Internet sharing services are available in Nigeria and vary from ISP to ISP.

Ways to share an internet service
There are probably a lot of ways to share an internet connection and I just want to list the 3 I know of

- Networking
- Wireless LAN
- ISP program

Networking:
If you have a single internet service, you can share that same service across several computers using your operating system's network setup. In Windows, networking can easily be accomplished by connecting the computers and running the network and sharing program. This would make one computer the master while others would be able to share a lot of things such as an internet service.

Wireless LAN Connections:
If your internet modem has a WLAN port that provides Wifi signals, then it would be easy for other computers with Wifi detectors to connect to it when internet service is available. There are a couple of such internet devices in Nigeria from some providers such as MTN Hynet and Swift broadband. They come with Wlan ports that allow multiple WiFi capable computers to connect to the internet at the same time. There is a limit however to the signal range and I think it's about 10 metres.

ISP program
Your ISP may also offer a program or allow an action that allow the subscriber to setup internet sharing. A service like Glo Bolt offers this ability.

With an internet sharing service, users would not have to wait in line to access the web as they can all do it at the same time and probably for the same cost.
