The final match for the African cup of nations AFCON 2013 has been played and the Super Eagles of Nigeria did't have it easy beating Burkina Faso for the ultimate prize. Nigeria won it by a hard to get single goal in the first half and maintained that lead till the end. The goal was scored by Sunday Mba, with his left leg, as he approached the BF goal post in the midst of some highly active defenders. It was a God-given goal as getting goals against Burkina Faso was not an easy feat - They had a very good defense.

Sunday Mba did a volley into box 18 and then a slight stroke with his left leg into the net guarded by an unsuspecting keeper. The ball didn't touch the ground until after Sunday Mba took it into 18 and scored while the goalie just looked surprised.

The match was held by 7.30 pm Nigerian time, in South Africa on Sunday(10/02/2013) at the 90,000 seater National stadium in Soccer city, South Africa.

Compared to Burkina Faso, Nigerian team had a lot more opportunities to increase their lead but they messed up and this kept the game really tensed till the end at 94 minutes. Leading by a long goal against the BFs was not a smart move as they were a deadly side that never gave up till the end. There were no penalties, thank God for the referee, only some free kicks which both sides didn't really utilize well.

Burkina Faso also had more corners than Nigeria and also put more pressure on the Nigerian team towards the end of the second half as they sought for an equalizer.
