I noticed my Kindle Fire HD develop a problem after I mistakenly left it charging with a Nokia charger - They have the same kind of port.

I noticed that my KFHD was hot and was hung as it was not responding to any button I pressed. It was just showing the display message "Fastboot Kindle Fire" which I've never seen before.

I was kind of afraid that I've crashed my Kindle by using the wrong charger. My Kindle Fire HD package came with only a USB cable for charging and I would have to pay to get a faster charger from Amazon and that costs $. Well, what normally worked for me when it comes to charging was using the USB cable connected to a computer and my blackberry charger. Believe me, the blackberry charger works ok for charging a Kindle but I guess the Nokia charger does not work well.

Well, as soon as I noticed that my Kindle Fire HD was frozen and displayed the error Fastboot Kindle Fire, the first thing I did was unplug it and allowed it to cool down.

It was still displaying the error and did not respond to me pressing the power button so I had to do some Googling to see others experiencing the same problem.

The Solution
===============
I just pressed the power button and held on to it until the error message stopped displaying.

The next thing was to now recharge my Kindle using the normal USB cable it came with and as soon as I plugged it in, thank God, my Kindle powered up normally again.

Now, I noticed that on some websites, some people were mentioning that this would reset the kindle settings or something like that and I was bothered that my files and custom settings may be deleted. Fortunately, all files and settings on my KFHD were still in tact after rebooting during normal charging.

It seems that this normally happens when your Kindle either uses the wrong charger or is completely drained off its battery. I guess i won't used a Nokia charger to recharge my Kindle again and it's always best to keep your Kindle fully charged if you can, for better service.
