Mifi devices are becoming relevant in Nigeria and they are devices that provide a mobile Wi-Fi hotspot allowing multiple users to connect to the internet at the same time.

Unlike 3g USB modems which only provide internet service to a single user when plugged in, Mifi devices can provide a wireless internet connection to multiple users at about the same price and time.

You might have seen a lot of local adverts offering mifi plans at almost ridiculously low prices but you probably never knew that your Android mobile phone could also offer you the same service.

The Samsung Galaxy Y pro duo is one of such phones that you can use to create a wifi hotspot and this is just how I set mine up and even used it to get my Kindle Fire connected to the internet.

Steps:
=========
Go to settings > Wireless and network > Tethering and portable hotspot on your Samsung phone
- Enable Portable Wi-Fi hotspot and configure the settings
- Enter a name or network SSID for your network, use WPA2 PSK under security and select a wireless network password
- Save your settings
- Ensure that Portable Wi-fi hotspot is enabled
- Open up your device(Kindle Fire) adn scan for wireless networks
- You'd notice the Android phone's network SSID showing up
- Connect to that portable Wifi using the same password

That's how I'm able to use my phone as a mifi hotspot for my Kindle Fire HD and you can connect other devices to the phone's wifi if they have wifi detectors.
