One of the benefits of having a smart phone is that it tends to have a couple of hidden powers, most of which people hardly ever use.

If you've got a mobile phone that supports Wifi tethering like the Samsung Galaxy Y, you would be able to

Nigerian GSM companies like MTN and Glo do offer personal Mobile Wifi services and these allows one to carry his Wifi hotspot wherever he goes hence the name mifi. As the number of tablet users increase in Nigeria, so does the need for Wifi services and it only make sense that one also have his own personal mifi device.

Personally, I've been used to MTN's Hynet service and this comes with a fixed CPE modem which requires a constant supply of power making it hardly mobile.

A mobile Wifi in this case allows you to carry a Wifi device anywhere you go since it comes with an internal battery

To use your mobile phone as a mobile wifi hotpot, it would need to have that capability and then you just enable it.

How to do it
==================
- Go to your wireless and network settings
- Select to enable wifi hotspot
- Set a username and password for the wireless network
- Scan for the wireless network with your tablet or other device you want to connect with
- Select to connect and enter the wireless password
- You should be able to access the internet with that network
