Want to buy from China? Well, Aliexpress is a cool site I would recommend. Although I'd earlier written about how Nigerians can shop online and get the items shipped to Nigeria using a courier service, I've not yet written my experience on how I actually did that from a Chinese website.

Since my Toshiba laptop battery seems to be dying, I decided that it was time to get another one. Buying it in Nigeria costs about N7k but buying it from Aliexpress could save me about N2k.

I do shop on websites like Amazon and eBay from time to time but recently, I've decided to start shopping on Aliexpress.

Shopping on Aliexpress does have its benefits such as the fact that items are cheaper and they also ship directly to Nigeria unlike Amazon. I guess, partnering with this online beast from the easy may very well be a good business decision.

Lots of Nigerians do travel to China and have made millions doing so. I guess it would online make sense to save that ticket money and rather use it buy stuff online on this Chinese website.

Aliexpress may be regarded as a Chinese website but the language is in English and you'd be able to see a lot of goods you'd want to buy at a good price.

I recently decided to buy laptop batteries for my Toshiba brand and after finding that the price would be $79 at Amazon, I found out that it was cheaper at Aliexpress - $29.

What I used
============
- Internet access
- Zenith bank USD Visa card
- Aliexpress buyer's account

How I ordered
=============
- Logged into my Aliexpress account
- Selected the laptop battery I wanted and added it to card
- Proceeded to checkout
- Selected a payment option(Visa)
- Entered my Visa card details such as card number, CVV, Cardholder Name and expiry date
- Entered my Nigerian shipping address which is in Lagos
- Order was accepted

I immediately received an email from Aliexpress indicating that my order was successful and that my payment has been accepted. It cost me about $29 and shipping to Nigeria was really cheap - About $3.

After about 5 mins, I also received an sms from Zenith bank indicating that my Visa card has been debited with the exact amount. It seems they don't process payment immediately like Amazon since I get an sms alert almost immediately I make payment with my card.

I also received an email notification of the order and got to know that the item would be delivered within 15-60 Days.

So that's how I made my order on Aliexpress and I'm now waiting to get it shipped to my doorstep from China.
