Although there are many online resources or websites that allow one to convert word or other computer files into pdf formats, not all of them do the conversion well while maintainining other important attributes of the original document such as images, hyperlnks and page layout.

If you ask me, the best software or website for doing such is Adobe's pdf maker but that comes at a membership free and not free. To get the offline software, you also need to pay for it. There are howeer many other free websites that allow you to do file conversions to pdf for free but only few of them maintaint the important details such as hyperlinks and bookmarks.

I've tried several of them but the best one I've seen so far which is free is that located at http://www.freepdfconvert.com/

Freepdfconvert converts your word document as well over 50 other files such as jpg, xml, html and so on to pdf formats.

I tried converting one of my ebooks which is basically of small size to pdf and noticed that many other webites don't convert well or as good as freepdfconvert.

However you should note that there are some restrictions to the speed at which you can use their free service which is normally delayed or limited for non-paying members. I like the fact that they can allow you to do some file conversions for free but in the longer run however, you may have to pay to keep using the service.
